Phidelity

This is the blog of Kris Northern aka phidelity. I am a free-lance graphic designer / musician based in Portland, Oregon with many  interests leaning towards the nerdy end of the spectrum. Some of these include Isometric Art, Origami Tesselations, graffiti, fractals, Sacred Geometry, photography, object oriented design and art as well all manners of electronic music and sound design,

This site is a continually evolving work in progress but can act as a portfolio for my previous work. Please have a look around and sign up for my mailing list if you want to get updates when I put new work out – I only send out an email every couple months. =)

I also write a zine called the Jaded Review which is primarily parodies and satires the hippie culture.

I am also one half of the group Squiddhartha which makes fun funky tongue in cheek electronic dance music.

Savio Farrel

Savio Farrel

Bio:  Born in the Orient. Forged under a hot tropical sun. Nurtured by the shores of the Salish Sea. We have brought  down the dam and the music is flowing into the universe.  Savio Farrel is the culmination of musical journey that  has spanned continents and all kinds of styles. All fused together into something fresh energetic and with feel  good vibes. This music is meant to cruise/skate/fly too. It is the soundtrack of our lives  and we are happy to  share it with you.

Our Sound:  Our music is really a reflection of our lives. We are a husband a wife duo that did not even start playing music  until after we started a family. A decade into our lives together we began our musical journey. After playing in a  few bands together we built a studio at home and began to develop our own sound. Our sound spans many  genres and has its own unique flavor. The root of our sound is live instrumentation and vocal harmonies with  layers of complementary loops and synths. We are proud and committed to our live show.  We begin in a 60’s  psych folk vibe and progress into a groove oriented set that ultimately end in a electro dub rock. Cerebral  engaging groove trance?  Avant garde roots rock? Digital meets analog. You tell me. It feels like we are coming  home.

Alchemy of Improv

Alchemy of Improv

Alchemy of Improv with Jess Carmen and Water Eye

What is Alchemy: A magical process of transformation, creation and combination.

The Alchemy of Improv is a dance ceremony infused with live, improv music. Here, the dancers allow their prayers to be divinely moved through expression and witnessed, creating a potency that is deeply felt.

Dance is a powerful tool for manifestation!

This class is aimed to purify, mature and perfect your prayers for manifestation.

On Jess:
Jess’ soul shines the brightest when performing improvisational dance. Vulnerability and courage are key ingredients involved in surrendering into the mystery of a song. From this paradoxical place, transformation occurs.

On Water Eye:
“Water Eye channels the divine imagination with the incredible potency of her voice and presence.  She is an improvphetical oracle able to weave intricate lyrics, live in the moment, to articulate the energy of the moment.”

“My purpose is to create. In that process I find stillness and rhythm, my teacher and passion. With intention, I aim to share honesty and awakening; to celebrate this fantastic adventure; to inspire and be inspired. Each canvas takes me on a journey, and as my paintbrush follows, each time I am lead back to my center.

In this shifting and challenging Time, I feel a deep stirring, a potent blossoming of creativity. It is all around us, gaining momentum and strength; in our own lives, in those of our family and community, and in the collective experience. It is our divine duty to create and share inspiration, especially at this time of change. As we honor our own personal creativity, we contribute vitally to the whole. We inspire those around us to celebrate, we empower them to create, we manifest visual mirrors to the light, divinity, and potential of each viewer.

As in any art form, as we release judgment, silence our mind, breathe deep into the process, and find bliss in each step; we realize that we are boundlessly assisted in our authentic and heart-centered expression. We step out of the way. We realize that the Art is not born of us, but through us, and in this understanding we are humbled, yet profoundly empowered. Each creation is an offering: a positive reflection of ourselves and humanity, a celebration of evolving consciousness, an opportunity for healing and deepening, a vision of a bright future and Now.

May my paintings be a mirror, a reflection of your universal light, your human essence, and your timeless divinity.”

Born in Nova Scotia, Autumn Skye moved with her family West across Canada. She spent her youth between the majesty of the Rocky Mountains with her Father, and the lush coastal rainforests with her Mother. Autumn Skye has been painting since she could hold a brush, developing a deep wonder for nature and the world around her.

Amidst journeys to explore the world and share inspiration with the ever blossoming community, Autumn Skye otherwise lives and paints in her home north of Powell River on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. In her studio, she overlooks a sweeping expanse of ocean, islands, mountains, and sky. She considers herself among the blessed of the blessed.

During meditation, after yoga and a prolonged headstand, I entered a visionary state where my body’s energy systems were aligned. My right, visual, perceptual thinking brain united with my left, logical, analytical thinking brain to function as a prism which projected these systems of energy out of my body and materialized them into a mandala of color floating above me. Each color has its own tints, tones, shades, and intensities. The color and light corresponded into my primal hungers, emotions, reasoning, love, divine will, and creativity. On the outside these colors slowly melded into each other forming the body. On the inside they separated and increased in brightness, power, until they reached the center where a white starburst illuminated everything. A geometric object rose out of this bright light which I now recognize as the Universal Mind free of my personality, and ego.

Hoop Duality

Hoop Duality

Hoop Duality combines the skills and grace of Kirra Lien & Jody Poth.

After years of dancing, Jody started doing circus arts in 2011, initially with solo Trapeze. Jody continued working on mostly vertical apparati and after a few years, moved into the fantastical realm of duo work; inclusive of duo trapeze, duo straps and of course duo hoop….

Kirra studied classical ballet at Pacific Northwest Ballet School in her formative years, which lends grace and fluidity to her work as an aerialist. She performs as a soloist on hoop, aerial net, and sling. While she still likes to break it down on the ground, it is her great joy to share the gift of creative movement in the air!

These ladies bring their experience together to form a unique and eclectic aerial duo!
