Osiris Indriya

Osiris Indriya

Osiris Indriya began developing his deep and driving sound in 1997. After 7 years playing bass guitar and low brass in school and garage bands, he found something unexpected in the bins of a local record store. The album was µ-Ziq vs. The Auteurs. It didn’t follow any of the standard rules of music in structure or sound. He was so intrigued, that he traded his bass for a MIDI keyboard and started recording electronic music on his own.

Osiris moved from the burbs to the city of Seattle for college, attending Cornish College of the Arts, majoring in Classical & New Music Composition. There he spent most of his time in the school recording studio designing sound and experimenting with the electronic equipment. His first semester, he landed his dream job working at Orpheum Records on Broadway. There he was exposed to a wide range of music and artists from all over the spectrum, and eventually discovered the thriving underground electronic music culture in Seattle. After exploring the scene, he joined an underground collective called Seelie Court, where he developed as a DJ, performer, event promoter, and eventually a community leader.

Today, Osiris continues to create original electronic music and perform at festivals, clubs and legendary events in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He is also producing other artists and publishing their work on his new label called Blessoteric Records. The first of these projects was released in early 2016, with Osiris’ latest, the Sub Rosa EP, due out May 26, 2016.

Bruce Pavitt was born 1959 in Chicago IL.

At the age of nine, he sold Christmas cards door-to-door in the summer heat, earning enough money to buy his first record player, and soon after, his first record (“Revolution” by the Beatles).

A lifelong passion for music brought him to the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, in 1979, where he spent time as a DJ at KAOS-FM. Soon after, he started his own zine named SUB POP, which reviewed hard-to-find independent rock recordings.

In 1988, along with business partner Jon Poneman, Bruce opened the doors to the SUB POP record label in downtown Seattle. By the early 90′s, SUB POP had released recordings by Nirvana, Soundgarden and Mudhoney, and helped initiate a global interest in Seattle area music.

Both an entrepreneur and music historian, Bruce has recently released authored two books, Experiencing Nirvana and SUB POP USA, a collection of his early Sub Pop zines and syndicated columns.

Recognized as a cultural visionary and Seattle business icon, Bruce has appeared in a number of documentaries, including Sonic Highways and Hype. His footprints have been bronzed and embedded into the Walk of Fame sidewalk at 6th and Pine in Seattle, alongside Jimi Hendrix and Bill Gates.

Bruce Pavitt currently lives on Orcas Island, Washington. He is the father of two, and works as Creative Director at 8Stem interactive media.

AjA

AjA

AjA is a duo from Seattle composed of Masaru Higasa (of Yaima & Ototo) and Jila Ji. Together they blend acoustic guitar, heart felt vocals, flute and percussion, weaving a soundscape to invoke heart resonance and presence. Many of their songs come from cultures and traditions from around the world— from Hindu and Buddhist mantras to traditional folkloric and medicine songs of South and North America. Some of their songs are preserved in their essence with melodies and lyrics intact, though most of them were born anew through the magic of listening to the moment, and many of their songs are originals. AjA enjoys offering a balance of songs the listeners can sit back and fully take in, while also playing mantras and chants that invite full participation for anyone feeling moved to sing.

AjA has been playing together since 2012 when they first collaborated for one of Jila’s cacao ceremonies and it was not long after they started recording, performing and holding cacao ceremonies together regularly in the North West. Their first album, Medicina, was released in 2013 and their follow up album will be released later this year. They have mostly shared their songs in intimate settings like yoga studios and house concerts, yet regardless of the group size, the distance between between “performer” and “audienc” tends to fade away and people often feel touched by their own heart through their offerings. AjA means unborn in Sanskrit and their is something in their music that brings us home to that place inside that existed before we were alive and will continue on after we go– they share music from other cultures as a way to see through the barriers that can sometimes keep human beings separate and discover that love that lies deep within us all.
